20 years later! It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since the death of Selena. I remember like it was yesterday. I remember exactly where I was, and the person who told me that Selena was shot to death at just 23 years old. I remember being just 10 years old, and not being able to sleep at night because they had killed Selena. Granted I did not know her personally. But I knew her songs. And like the rest of the Selena fans, it had felt like someone close to me had died. Since her death I started to become obsessed with learning more about Selena. And wanted so badly to go to Texas. Selena died at the height of her career. Right before her death she was in the process of crossing over from Spanish to english music. Selena was such a loving person. You could truly tell that everyone who was ever around her, was impacted in some way or another. Selena was, and is a major icon in the latin community. And her legacy lives on 20 years later!!
